Small World

Post by ladeeraven »

As most of you know I collect photos of hounds hunting for my calendar. I get hundreds of photos from all over the country. Well I got photos from a man in Canada of his 3 Blueticks. They are beautiful hounds. I called my husband in to see the photos. I said that I know I am partial to the darker Blueticks because of our hound Raven and I mentioned I thought this guys hounds were beautiful. One even looked like Raven. He has kind of a blocky head, golden colored eyes, big deep chest like our Raven. I found out a week later the man in Canada's hounds are out of Eastern Music Blueticks in NH and they share the same sire (Night Hawk) as our Raven. LOL Nora, if i recall you have one of Eastern Music's hounds, a half brother of Raven as well that made the 2006 calendar I think it was and your in California.

I have a sister to Raven. She is out of Night Hawk X Anne. She is a great dog :D . She was the 2006 April I believe. I will only get my blues from John. I have had others and they just do not compare :( to his breeding :) . I live in Oregon. I would not mind talking to the guy in Canada about his dogs if you do not mind passing me a E-Mail or # and I would love to see the pictures he sent you. I was going to get another pup from John but Hawks last litter was only males. :x So I will have to keep waiting.

You do a wonderful job.
The two pictures you used.

Do you find Bluetick is exceptionally smart? Raven is amazing. He understand everything. If I notice his ears are bothering him all I have to do is say "Want your ears cleaned?" If he does he runs to the bedroom, jumps on the bed and lays on his side. LOL If not he walks away. He communicates very well. He has a great nose but a bad leg so he labors on long hunts but he does love to hunt. We have a pretty Majestic girl now. She's just going to be 7 months and already weighs 75 pounds!

This is her having a fit that Raven has a chew treat that she wants. Mind you she has the same treat but has too have HIS!

Gayle I have to agree with Nora about John's dogs. He has some great hounds and we are working right now on breeding my female to a Sebastian Blooded male to keep this bloodline going. Here are some pics of my 3 female pups from my female Bells Aug litter. just over 4 months old and they tipped the scales at 42 lbs average.

These are my 3 dogs from John. As you can see they are great with my grand daughters. All night tree dogs and yote runners all winter.

LOL Hawks offspring are big dogs. I know some prefer their hounds smaller and faster. I have always preferred a big dog of course I'm not the one that hunts so I'm happy Jimmy (Bubba) feels the same way. Dakota is going to be big. She is already 76 pounds at just 7 months.

I hope you guys will submit some photos of your Blues for consideration in the 2009 calendar.
