Can someone sell me an all around dog, any color that can strike trail and tree paws on the tree, here in Oregon for less than one arm and one leg? You'll need to show im at the tree doing it solo.

If you want to see the dog at the tree doing it by itself, get that arm and leg ready. Dogs that can do it all are not cheap. Plan on thousands. I started out with a good started young dog and an older than dirt pup trainer. Still had a few thousand into the two of them but it was worth it. Later I came across a real nice dog for a few thousand dollars. Between that started dog and the other I bought I was good for six or seven years. Made it way more enjoyable. Good luck to you.

All around - I guess I don't want a strickly bear dog or strickly lion dog but I'd take a strickly cat or cat, lion, bear, coon, fox dog. At least deer, elk, ppines and yotes are trash to me. Does that answer it? A dog that can do these things will suit my needs for hunter/puppy trainer even if it is 8 yrs old. (For those guys that are only hunting their younger fastest dogs.)

Good Luck finding a bobcat dog that can get it done, without spending some cash. Are you looking for a west side cat dog or a east side style dog. Most of them are hunted in different manners. oh, and I don't have one i want to get rid of, they are too hard to come by unless you want to go through some dogs.

You need to be more specific in what you mean by all around dog. I am assumming you are referring to a dog that will strike, trail, and tree a bobcat. If you are even lucky enough to find one for sale, prepare to come up with both arms, both legs, and possibly a kidney to purchase one. You are looking at around $4000 to find a rigging cat dog that can get it done by his/her self. These type of dogs are rarely for sale. You might wanna try finding someone who hunts around you, and try to tag along. Usually, someone who has been cat hunting for a long time will give you some information or leads on trying to find a dog that will suit your needs.

I am tagging along. And I'm raising pups. I just remember when I got out of it last time I almost gave my dogs away because of the law change there was lots of dogs to be had. I just wanted them to be hunted so I sold them to an "Oregon coon hunter." Now I'm needing a couple start up dogs to get back in the game.

Hopefully something might become available around pursuit season in September. At least that way, you can see the dog working in the woods.

I'd like to go out on private land most guys have a place to run their dogs in off season. There is a way to show a dog work.

Even in the off season it's against the law to run "hunt" your dogs even if you are on private property.

I've tried the cheap dogs and spent and arm and a leg on dogs because I have had to by lots of dogs. Finally spent an arm and got a good dog. You get what you pay for if your buying from the right people.
