Anyone know of Shorty a Jeff Allen dog????

Post by plottblooded »

I am wanting to know if anyone has hunted or heard of Jeff Allens Shorty dog. The reason I am asking is because I am hunting some dogs for Jeff soon and I am also picking up a sister out of shorty. She is breed and I am not sure what I am going to do with the pups. It there is enough interest I will raise them and move them. If not I will not mess with them. She is a good dog that Jeff sold a few years ago and bought back recently. She is a high tan looking dog and is bred to a real nice male according to Jeff. He doesn't want to try and raise the pups because of the heat. Let me know what all of you guys think.

How is she bred? That Shorty dog is owned by a guy on here that goes by Taz (I think). Look in the classifieds. He has those pups for sale.

Yes what is she bred to? If it is right there should be a hell of a lot of interest from the dirt dog crew.Shorty is a really good dog and she has a few sisters out there I know Catman has one and there ain't no flys on that dog.

Keep us informed: We are interested!

Shorty is her brother and they are not born yet. Jeff said she was bred to another nice high tan. Thats all I know. Jeff knows what he is talking about. I just want to know if I can move these pups.

The female is a littermate sister to Shorty. The male she is bred to is not a Jeff Allen bred male. Jeff and I talked about this dog. I have heard good things about the Shorty dog and I cannot say enough about my Littermate to Shorty. This would be an outcross to which anything can happen, but if the female takes after her littermate sisters....getting rid of the pups will be a small thing compared to the contribution you'll be getting from that female.

The biggest problem with those pups is they will be hightan. I bet if that dog was blue or white she would have never left in the first place. I believe shorty is jeffs old strain stuff mixed with some high powered blue blood from back east.

I'd take one of those pups and try it just because it's hi tan.

Benny G, I could care less about the color also I have 3 hightans in my yard right now, and the best dog i ever owned was hightan. however alot of those desert guys worry about those hightans overheating.

Taz, hate to tell you how your dog is bred but if you call jeff you will see that she has some east coast blue blood in her. Jeff made that out cross several years ago and has watched it close.

High Desert Hounds,
Sorry for the late response. My son and I just spent 46 hours straight on the road. This hound addiction can be the drizzles! I have never met any desert guys that were scared of hi tans in the heat, but that doesn't mean anything. I come from Phoenix originaly, and one of my best dogs came from the desert north of there. Those guys had hundreds of hi tans through the years. As for me, I really would try one of those pups JUST BECAUSE of the color, but maybe I'm wierd. :joker
