they were baying the bear under a big tree when he started to climb this plott walker grabbed him by the butt and held on, was towed up tree 20 feet before being swatted off. didnt get hurt but hope it dont happen again.

20 feet and he wasnt killed? He must have some cat in him. I have heard of coon dogs falling out of trees from 10 feet and breaking major bones, backs, or being killed. I would say you and him both got extremely lucky on that one.
