which one is the better unit? With the Booster how far can you actually reach out. Thinking about buying just not convinced just yet.

I had the vr-500 with a booster. It would track a little better than the mn-10, but no where near as good as a wildlife 1000. The pros - You can track all collars with it and they are pretty cheap. The cons - super hard to get used to and way to much adjusting with the booster to pick up. I was better off not using the booster and just hoping I would get close enough to pick them up at times. I sold mine and I will not get another one. My buddy had the Icom and it was no better and tracked about the same. It went down the road pretty quick too. In my opinion you are better off getting one made to just track dogs. If you are looking for something at a decent price that will track all collars - it will work to find you dogs with practice.

I have the icom w/ a booster.I like it.Its alot more compact than my blue box which is nice in the backpack. However it will not track quite as far. It works a little better than 1/2 as good as my blue box but i use it as a pack box and I have my blue box in the truck. It is a pain in the a$$ to program but once its done you lock it and you're done.
