I was thinking that their should be a bobcat hunting section in there. As thjere is only a coon and big game hunting section. Bobcat is not either and it should get its own section ???

Varmit are yotes and such.. Bobcat are big game... I am about 99.9% sure they are big game when we are talking hounds.. We always consider them that...

i have always considered 'em just varmints. May be a dumb question but why would it be a big game ?? Big game is an animal that u eat. is it not ?? bobs are a furbearer animal. I would never eat one like a lion. when u buy ur huntin licen. u buy a small game licen to hunt 'em right ?? maybe in the hound world they are considered biggame but all the hound hunters I know consider 'em a varmint. But oh well so be it.

We call em the "Little Big Game". Because really, compared to a lion, they are little. But if you rate them by the signifigance of the accomplishment by the dogs, and the amount of effort that goes into 90% of caught bobcats, they are the biggest game of all, in my experience. If we were rating all tree game by that, I might have to call lion "small game". My experience with lion is limited, but those I have caught could be compared to coon hunting in the mountains.
But, as far as giving bobcat it's own section, I am all for it! That would be amazing, and a first for the world and the internet. A growing book on bobcat hunting. Cool. How many books on bobcat hunting with dogs do you guys and gals know of?

i would say that bobcats are considered big game when it comes to running them with hounds, even though they are classified as small game in my state of ny. but if we`re saying that they should be big game because they`re hard to catch, then you would have to put yotes in that catagory too. which i could never do, even though i think it`s just as hard if not harded for a hound to catch a yote.

exactly!! They are not big game just because they hard to catch. Yotes are ten times harder to catch then any lion or bear in brushy areas in my opion, so then yotes are big game too?? I don't know how people think of them it really doesn't matter I just think that their should be their own section.

think it has more to do with our attitude toward them
yotes may be hard to catch, but most of us consider them pests and don't have much respect for them, except insofar as they are wiley.. Most of us don't consider bobs pests. They're elusive and private and pretty and have our respect--not varmints.
