I have a Lepard Cur. She is about 6. She is a pretty good bear dog. Lots of grit and tree power. I would say she has a medium nose but as I have never used her as a start dog couldnt say for sure. I do know that on small game such as coon she is totally silent. Not a bark even on a hot track but trees outstanding on them. On a bear she is wide open.

The good ones are fast, gritty enough and smart. Just the ticket for bear in my opinion.

Hey Tink, I sure like em, I, like Randy have hunted them mainly on bear for several years and the reason I switched from the hounds to the Leps was for their trailing ability, these dogs are smart fast track dogs that will stay treed or bayed till ya get there and I can leave a bear 10 feet up the tree and my dogs will leave with me with no leashes and go to the truck. If ya try 1 for big game I would stick with the McDuffie strain as they seem to work best for bear and have plenty of grit to them. Mike
