LARGE MALE LION!

Post by M Evertsen »

Saw this on another site, and just could not resist. I don't have the heart to tell the guy the truth. I can't say I blame him for shooting the cat, but you have to read the part "large male tom" then look that the pictures.

I about hit the floor.

hell with that narrow head and skinny body, i would have called it a female if i hadn't seen the next pic of his junk. he appeared to have some legnth though and decent front paws. I think those az cats are just genetically different. lanky and small. I'm with you guys on the fact that he's not gona make boone and crocket, but I have seen guys with hounds around here bag "trophies" smaller than that.

To me it looks like it still has bars on its legs, thats what caught my eyes. And the teeth aren't all the way out! I figured it just over a "kitten."

Yeah I saw that on monster muleys and I wanted to say something bad but I could not do it. I just laughed when I read that title and then looked at the cat. Man oh man keep that up and we will have someone else to blame for shooting our lion pop!

You said what I was going to say. :beer

I guess I cant blame him for killing it though. Not many guys call in a lion while calling coyotes. Its just the BIG MALE LION part thats so funny.Maybe we should show him some pics of some little ones and big ones and let him see the difference.

Well I think we all have to remember not all hunters are houndsman. I know plenty of avid deer hunters in Az that have never seen a wild lion. I know the area this cat was killed out of. Not a bad Cat for the area. It is a younger male. And by the looks of things it may have become a bigger male lion, but this guy that has never killed a lion and had one come into his call I am sure it is a big male lion to him. And after all it was a male lion. Congrats to the guy for taking a coues deer killer down.

Not only can you see the bars, but if you look close you can still see the fading spots. Lions are like bears, when somebody ( a non-houndsman) tells me about a big bear they saw, or killed, when they give me the weight estimate, I divide it in half and figure that as a high estimate.
