Post by kdrchuck »

IDK who all has seen this thing. It was killed a couple years ago in PA...733lbs Shot from a stand on a drive. PA has two world record Black Bear. I wish those Bigguns would come on a little bit south.

Anyways...This is a Pic from a guy that knew the a guy that knew the guy that killed the bear. The story is at the top.

Well my pics aren't working right now. I will get it up in a minute. Have to restart

Alot of that has to do with there great agriculture and just a 3 day spot and stalk season, no hounds, no bait

I can't get my pics to work. Nothing will upload to the net. I can forward an email if someone can post them for me.

From Pa to WV, I don't know the difference in bear population or forest land. But in 3 days of hunting out of their dear stands they kill more and bigger bears. No way would i ever go away from the dogs. Just like to know how they can kill twice the bear in 3 days than we can in 6 weeks (with dogs).

you got to remember NJ has no bear season and some heavily timbered areas up around the poconos and the Delaware Water Gap. Most of the residents in the poconos are seasonal homes and cabins or at least that is the way it was the last time I was there some time ago  .

i hope that is just the head & hide. the 880# killed in NC in fall 98 filled the bed of a full size pickup to overflowing.

This is the other pic. That's why i was saying i wasn't real impressed. It's a monster. Just isn't what i imagined in a world record. BandC skull mesurment. You'd think 700+ pounds would be spilling out of that little ranger.

thats my point. a bear 150# heavier FILLED the bed of a fullsize truck to over flowing. i only saw the pic in carolina sportsman & you couldn't really tell what it was. it was just a black mass that filled the truckbed & stuck up about 6-12 inches over the sides. this bear OTH doesn't even fill up a small truck. i have a pic of a 200-250# hog that takes up the back HALF of my 4 door dakota bed.
