5 month pup SpOoK... Any suggestion or advice?
I was in a situation that I knowtish my 4 month pup was spook out when I was watching some videos in YouTube on some hounds treein and baying on bears n pigs. My pup was spook n scared on hearing those howling and barking. it freaked her out, She stood up and ran straight to her kennel. I try callin her into me but she wouldn't bother. When I stop the video and called her, she slowly wonder and slowly move out from her kennel. Do y'all have a problem with ur pups havin the same thing? Is it gonna affect or cause a problem to my pup in the long run? Should I stop lettin her hear those sounds? Any suggestion or advice?

I wouldn't worry too much about it.. Sometimes dogs will just get scared with something they don't understand.. I used to have a bluetick who, when he was a pup, would always act real skiddish at a friend of mine's house. He'd go into the living room and whine and run away... I finally realized he was freaked out of the reflections in the big full-length windows at the house.. He turned out to be a no-fear cat dog. I'm sure your pup is just confused hearing a bunch of rilled up dogs barking thinking they're coming her way. Nothing to worry about.. If it makes her real nervous maybe don't over-expose her to it. But she'll probably get to the point where it doesn't bug her unless she's real shy about more than just that.

I think maybe your puppy was scared because she could hear the barking but she could not see any real dog and could not figure out if it was a threat or not. Since she is young she hide. I have done that with older dogs and they usually act tough and try to find the dog making the noise. Since it scares her and there is really know reason to get her use to it, I would not do it. Wait till she get older and more secure and if you want try it again then.

I have noticed that pups seem to go through a spooky phase usualy around 6 months of age up to a year. Some times earlier as in your case. Anyhow I would not worry about it. One thing to avoid is forcing the pup to get close to what spooked it, too much of this can cause shyness to carry over into adulthood. Instead let the pup face the thing that spooked it on its own time table. In your situation you could play those videos on a lower volume and leave a scent loaded treat on the floor near the sorce of the noise. As the pup gets used to it start playing it at normal volume.
Pups in this stage of development can be spooked by just about anything, moving leaves, a dark stump ect. Its best to let them figure out that its nothing rather than trying to grab the dog and pull it closer to show that its safe. If you don't make a big issue out of it, it should go away on its own in a few months.
