Alright there Sorensen, now you've done it. I can't help that I'm as lucky as the day is long. Do you actually think taking that picture was skill? I was laying against a rock sucking wind way behind everyone else, and vwalla, I take a picture of some real houndsmen and a bunch of dogs on a cliff. Heck, I'm lucky my dogs even made that 50 yard dash of a race without dropping out. Not skill, luck. As for Pat's number, luckylqh had already talked to Pat before I even saw this post. He is one lucky fella, he actually got to see Pat's dogs run in his hayday. He actually got to follow behind Pat's Dempsy, a real lion dog, and you won't find anyone that will disagree with that. So famous no, lucky you're dam* right.

Yep the stories that Pat told about that Dempsy dog was unreal. Yep the hawaiian was in his living room with houndnhorse talking about hunting. It was cool and one hell of a trip. I was like a kid in a candy store. I tell you what if i make time soon that is one trip i will make in a heart beat again. But first i need to stop at the ranch in Elko ,NV and see a real good friend.

It sounds to me like jasons a little jealous,I dont know if hes ever met pat but he should go and talk with pat he may learn something. Pat Wantland is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, I have known him all my life,I grew up hunting with him,he and my dad were good friends. The first lion I ever saw was started and straitened out by old Dempsey and these guys can say what they want but I have seen that old dog trail a lion all day that other dogs could not open on and I mean good cold nosed dogs.Dempsey was smart about trailing a lion,he could run a track that other dogs would have to really grind on,and I mean really run it and run it to catch it, the best dogs that I have ever owned went back to old dempsey. just try one of these dogs(if you can find one) you wont be disappointed

Jason is just ribbing me bit. I went and hunted with him last winter and he wouldn't even let me see his dogs run. He let me tree a couple easy ones though. So Jason, you figured out when you're headed this way yet?
