Re: Vermont Bears?
I've actually have had a real good year around Vermont. Last sat ran a big bear saw it twice around 300lbs one point it was only 10 yards from me. Could of shot it i suppose but then what would i run next year. Got enuff trigger happy people around here. Sunday treed 2 bears had some friends up from tennesee they got to see a couple of bears. They were pretty excited. Monday pete and i ran one for a few hours got to see bear 4 times crossing roads. It would of been a good pup trainer. If i had brought a pup

Re: Vermont Bears?
We had a good year too but with only two experienced dogs and the rest pups, it's a little harder, but when the corn came around it got easier and we treed up a bunch and then after the corn when we were roading and walking the dogs it got harder again cause they would wind alot and we couldn't get one started, exept for the few towards the end there. Next year should be better because the pups seem to be doing better and we got some that are gonna be started next year that are showing potential and have been after caged coons like crazy.

He is doing great john no complaints for his first year he has made all my trees this fall.I think he will make a good rig dog also. Good speed on him. Gary hunted guinness and keeper for me in maine for a while and put a few down to him. And he keeps getting better and better. Not bad for a blue dog

Re: Vermont Bears?
Glad to hear that someone is getting some running in. If you don't mind my asking jason what are the bears feeding on? we just found a sow and cub in some apples but with a storm today they didnt hit it. just wondering what you were finding them in up your way. Good Luck and any info would be great.
