Thanks for clarifying what you meant. No need on the bergers I go through thousands of them. The only ones ive had issue with in the past were the 115 25 cal. bullets they would pencil through alot even on shoulder hits. This was during the changeover per se between hunting/match bullets so that may have affected bullet performance on game so I just used it on steel or paper. Its just the statement you made that they (Accubonds) had insignificant impact energy past 400 yds statement that got me scratching my head a little because Ive got many animals that would beg to differ that point

Im a big fan of Accu bonds and ballistic tips. On paper the the say the bergers carry more energy which is probably true, but in hunting situations it is not enough to make a differance. I shoot 250gr accubond out of my 338 rum and they kill just fine at any distance with much better bullet performance( as far as killing goes). My only complaint about them is they dont hold together any better than ballistic tips for the extra price. Ive shot lots elk and orxy with Ballistic tips and accubonds and they are both around 50% retention but both kill just fine so i use mainly ballistic tips for the price.

Ive seen a lot of critters shot with bergers and sierra BTHP match and both kill ok but both pin hole like FMJ's at times.

Another real good accurate long range bullets is the scirraco's 2's (sp). They hold together better than accubonds and are very accurate butare pricey

i myself do alot of reloading with nosler ballist tips for a 300win mag... 78gr imr4350 150gr ballistic tips and magnum primers....ruger m77 rifle....this load is very fast and very accurate in my gun....i dont recomend that everybody try this load because it is 4gr over max in the nosler book but 1gr under my old speer book...but it is definately a one shot deer and elk load

Ya, your probably right, insignificant is probably not the correct word. I should have said "they don't retain their energy or flight path as well". My bad.
