Wildlife trx2000 issue

Post by baiz »

First off new to tracking equipment and hounds. Have known houndsmen all my life so im not totally lost. But equipment and the in and outs are all new to me.

I bought a used trx2000 217/219. Upon testing the unit i noticed the signal meter wasnt working even though i was getting tone. If I flip it to read battery the box continues to read tone and fails to read the battery. Checked the battery with my fluke and its reading a solid 13v and didnt drop. So the battery is good and holding a charge.

Anyone else have an issue like this?

I already sent it in on Fri., Left waiting and wondering what the repair cost is going to set me back.

Just got the call today, meter switch had seen moisture. Bad attenuator, moisture also i guess, and a bad switch. Total estimate was 161.00 Said it would be done by the end of the week.

I bought this unit from valley creek hunting supply off of ebay, and they agreed to cover half of the cost of the repair, so that turned out good.
