Black Gold

I'm convinced Black Gold has recently changed their formula. My dogs look like crap. Skin and bones. They act healthy and hunt hard. THey are up to date on being wormed , they are current on shots and vacinations. I had to double their feedings to get them looking better. Plus I've noticed alot more shit than usual. I think I'm done with B. G. I hate when companies cheap out. Anyone else out there notice a change.

Personaly i never liked black gold....it was over priced and dogs didnt hold up to hunting everyday

Black Gold changed plants several times in recent years so the product was not consistent. I fed it for years, buying it wholesale about a pallet at a time. I could see and feel the difference from one pallet to the next of the same formula. The dealer I was getting it from switched out of it and went to Hi Standard. It is almost exactly the same formulation with better quality and consistency from bag to bag.

Most everyone around here that was on Black Gold has switched to Hi Standard and I haven't heard anything bad about it.

You can get 26-18 for about $21.00 and 24-20 for about $23.00. Thats 50# bags.

You have to go with what's best in your area, right now its Black Gold here. Wish I would of remembered to stop and grab a bag or two of Pazzaz when I was in IA, totaly forgot about it till I was in SD

I have some doubts about Pzazz!! the last batch I bought had some spoilage in it .
I think they changed from chicken fat to something else also as the source of fat.

i have never tried black gold, but did experence the same thing recently. i was feeding my pups diamond puppy food, they were doing great on it untill recently, i noticed they have been having the shits and were starting to get skinny. took them off of it and went to red flannel puppy food, they are doing great now. i feed my older dogs diamond extreme athlete dog food and have never had problems with it, dogs seem to do great on it, but they must have changed something in there puppy food.
