dry or snow training
im looking for opinions on dry ground scent training vs snow coverred ground. whats your alls thoughts.
unless your the alpha dog your just starring at the dogs A$# in front of you!!!

im new at training my own hounds. my buddies have all had the hounds so i know a few things but i'd like some input on the best ways too go about training good lion hounds.any advice or help would be appreciated.

Train the hound for what condition you will be hunting it in, plain and simple, dont get caught up in all this one is better bull!

If your a first time hound hunter the snow will give you the opportunity to learn lion behavior and prepare you for any future bare ground hunting you may do. Not all hounds will make the grade on bare ground some transition fine others will never be anything than a snow dog but, that all comes from years of learning it won't happen over night and you will not find the secret to being a successful hounds men anywhere other than behind a pack of hounds. They can't do it on the end of a chain or behind the walls of a kennel. Get out there and hunt!
