Update on TIG

Post by AZDOGMAN »

Tig has been great in AZ and has already caught bear and lion with ease. But here is the situation. He twisted a gut 2 nights ago. Took him to the vet and they performed emergency surgery right away. The vet said we caught it in time and the back part of stomach had not started to die yet. They sewed his stomach to his ribcage and said he will be good to go. I have my doubts but have any of you guys gone through this before. How long should you wait to run them? Are the chances good it will just happen again? Anything i can do to help him out in any way? Anyways he will be living in the spare bedroom for a bit while recovering. Thanks for any info.

AZ, sad to hear. What did the vet say caused it to happen? Hopefully he returns back to 100%.

Best of luck, jason
I'm thankful for being dumb and slow, then i don't have to over think this stuff.

Best of wishes....

Somebody else on here just posted up a thread about this as it happened to them and the vet told him the dog needs to be laid up for at least 2 months (IIRC)
I would imagine this would apply to your hound too.\
Good luck.
