Last i heard its not going to happen. again last i heard fish and game wanted to know each collar GPS deal number or how ever you track each collar so they could track everyones dog before they would allow it. but i think you can us it for dog training during the off season if you have an area to dog train

They all have tracking boxes now and can track our dogs so dont see why that would hold it up.

Chris you are absolutely correct. They do have boxes and are always looking to see where our dogs are. Have you heard if we can at least use them in the training seasons? I havent heard that one yet. That would be better than not using them at all.

No you can absolutley not use them for hound hunting training or hunting. Someone on here got a ticket for it not to long ago. If I can remember who it was maybe we can ask him how it all went.

yea i checked the fish and game web site and this is what it sates
(2) Global Positioning System Equipment. Electronic dog retrieval collars employing the use of global positioning system equipment (devices that utilize satellite transmissions) are prohibited on dogs used for the pursuit/take of mammals.
so you can not use them at all..... a few club meeting back we talked about them and CHC is fighting for it but fish and game wanted you to register them i think with them before they would allow but if you contact CHC i know there fighting for it so they might have more answers

All they can do is give you a ticket and tell you not to have it on your dog ever again. i say HELL with the game wordens, its not there dogs out there, so in my opionion they should keep there mouths shut and look the other way. i've never had a dog stolen or lost thanks to the gps unit, it lets me know more info then any other device out there. so until i get arrested and put in jail to the Hell with any government prick. thx :D

yea i agree in a lot of ways i dont know why you cant us them you think they would want us to so we can get our dogs back easier instead of them being out all night. or losing them and them dying out there. but instead they think that its going to help of find the bears haha must be some switch in the hand held that tells you were the bears are at or something haha

Just goes to show how much hate they have for houndsmen. I guess they get to pick what animals they care about. And obviously hound dogs arent on their list. I just dont get it.

i think its more of a control issue that the govt has then anything. but i do agree F&G does hate us. but those 2 things are something we are just going to have to get used to.

Hey blondbeard I think that Siskiyou club would be the closest one to you up there in your neck of the woods. They are are part of the CHC so even if you were to only join one of them you would still be part of the CHC.

Siskiyou Houndsmen and Sportsmen Sherrie Peery 530.842.6301
Little Shasta Houndsmen Association Darryl Solus 530.459.3877
