lion hunting in nevada

Post by foxcat »

I am from ca, where we are not allowed to pursue lions. I plan on hunting in nevada in feb. after all the zones are back open. I am in the process of getting tracks for my yota, so snow should not be an issue. The only thing i know is that the out of state license is 140, and the tags, which you are allowed two, are about a hundred bucks a piece. Does anybody have any advise, good or bad i wont get mad, about hunting mountain lion in nevada?

The current season closes on Feb 28th. The new season opens and resets on March 1st.

Just go over the border and hunt if you want, but remember you have to buy a new license on March 1st.

Also - I am not sure what you are meaning by "when the zones are back open."

They are always open, and it has been MANY years since the quotas have been met, so call the number and go hunt.

Does anyone do any lion hunting around reno. I have my tag and license but as of right now i am just in need of a spot close enough that its not going to break me to go hunting. I don't want to kill anything just excercise my dogs until bear season in cali again.
