"Houndn'em Bluetics" couple cats to start the new year!

Post by houndnem »

alright 2011 it's time to get it on! new years day I got a call from my uncle that he had found a couple tracks. his wife has a tag on that unit. I couldn't break away till the next day, and I knew by the time we got there we'de be on the long end of the track, but with that much snow I knew if they were in the same zip code we'de catch up to them. the tracks were on opposite sides of the mountain so we should have picked one and stuck with it, but we had to split the pack and turn on both. it ended up taking most of the day to hike to the first tree. it was a female and it took some talkin to get my aunts finger off the trigger. by the time we pulled the dogs and got back over to where we turned the other dogs out the garmin said treed. it was 3/4 of a mile on the g.p.s, but all up hill. exhausted by the time we got to the tree we leashed dogs and got the hell out of there. very cold all in all, don't think it ever got above zero. I think the second cat was a young tom, but we are lookin for a bigginso hopefully our decision to pass will reward us with a big tom soon. I have clients coming in tomorrow so I guess it's time to focus on that. didn't get many pics, but hope you enjoy. dora is in the tree as always, it will be a miracle if she lives to see 2.that moppin she took in the cave the other day didn't teach her a thing.
