I use flat shoes, but I don't hunt where I need chains.

Flat on the front and none on the back for now..... I've been wanting to try some borium (sp) I've had one mule already go down a couple times. Maybe he's just clumsy..
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Dan Edwards, same for me flat shoes and four points of drill tech make go where others fear to tread. Forget borium go with drill tech it last and lasts.

The mules go naked. The horses have flat on all fours. I'm not a fan of toe and heals. One other thing I would like to mention. I won't make it a habit of shoeing just the fronts. If you going to shoe one or the other, do the backs.

I know I'm gonna hear it over this one but I aint gonna beat around the bush here, I'm just gonna say it. You fellas that claim a saddle horse can go barefoot are full of the proverbial shit.

I agree, there ain't a horse alive that'll go far without shoes. I use toe and heels with borium, never tried drill tech, might have to. Does it go on just like borium? Anyone ever tried the carbide tipped nails?

Ya I use the carbide nails I call them ice nails. They are quick to put in shoes that are already on the horse or mule. And if you can tack on a shoe you can put on the ice nails. They do not last like drillteck or borium. But you can put new ones on in a few minutes.
