bobcat pen

Post by clen4840 »

Does anyone know of a bobcat pen? I am in wisconsin and willing to drive a long way. Deep snow is making it very hard to train young dogs.

Send your dog to me, we've only got about 8 inches of snow. I'd take him for a month (two if the the conditions are not good) and hand the dog back to you started at least. One month=$500

I run every good day and most bad ones.

Give me a call if your interested. I live near Crivitz.

I know you cant have bobcats in pens in Michigan, dont know about wisconsin. I also know it takes a lot of gas to hunt a dog enough to make a cat dog so 500 dont sound too high for a good amount of trasining. I think it cost me 60 bucks just to hunt one day a week for cats around here and I still end up running coyotes most of the time any way.

Bud- I have several dogs that are licking feet for a while but it hasn't been that bad. The crust was pretty hard here and the dogs staye on top for the most part. We have around five inches of fresh stuff on top and it's gotten better. It's pretty windy today and I'm taking the afternoon off. Did you get any fresh snow in your neck of the woods?

LOL, we have more snow than I like and haven't had a thaw yet. Was in the woods today and the snow is mid-thigh, cat catching powder clear to the ground. Cat's ain't makeing a hundred yards after the jump.

We don't have it that easy but I can't complain. There is four inches of crusty stuff with five inches of fluff. They sure are moving well.

I think it's called Cannon Vally, do a search on it.

Yes, I had a pet bobcat but NO my wife wouldn't let me use him to train with.
Gave him to a friend that built a very nice and big enclosure for it.

Bobcat pen is worthless, unless it is a lot of acres
Cats won,t run much Might get dogs to tree a little
And pen has to be air tight to hold one.

Hip, you must have different cats than we do around here, you are lucky t find 1 out of 10 that will tree at all. Most of our cats can run all day and do a good job of outrunning the dogs. They like to run in the thickest of balsam swamps as well so I would think a small 5-10 acre pen would be ideal with a lot of heavy cover and leaning branches for them to go up and down. I do agree however that the pen would have to be airtight, I have a cat that comes into our coyote pen to eat and goes out just like the wind going through the fence. Fence is a 6 foot with a 2 foot apron hnging square off the top. Cats can jump up to the apron and out without ever touching any hot wires you can put on it.

As far as I know the bobcat training pen that cannon valley had is no longer in operation, it was just out of Motley Mn.
