Multi-purpose curs?

Post by Josh Kunde »

So my dads main thing about not really "helping" me get into hounds, is he thinks he is going to start likeing it and he will never be able to chukar hunt again. Well. The thing I was wanting to know, is have any of you guys ever used a cur to multi-task between huntin cats, and huntin birds. I would really like my dad to get into this with me, he is my biggest role model and I would just have twice as much fun with it if my dad could be standing next to the tree with me. so if he could do both and still do the dog justice. I would really like to know. Thanks for any help.

I just bought a bmc and will probably use her for a little bird hunting. I shoot lots of birds over a Border Collie right now...so it can be done

My walker/ blackmouths are almost too birdie.. lately when i'm walking or roading, they are nonstop flushing quail, to the point they somtimes forget what were really after.. I have been considering trying to train one of my females to hold point, she will locate and point for about 1/2 a second, then she 's going to catch one.
