double up your tracking collars?

Post by idahowest »

I was wondering how many guys are using both the radio/and garmin collars. We have some rough country and wanted to know if you trust the garmin enough to not use radio collars with them.

im new to the sport but the guys i run with doubles them up on the two lead dogs. we get deep in cedar swamps and sometimes the bobcats will run or travel along ways. the garmin i guess only gets them up to about a mile or so.

You bet, run both garmin and marshall.
Nope I cant find them very well with the telemetry (steep, deep and rocky...brutal bounce) where I live but at least I'll have an idea where to start looking should they be out longer than my garmin battery lasts.
