Sorry for the title Liontracker, I just couldn't resist.

I didn't know wether to put this in the "Lion Hunting","Classifieds", or the "Coffee Shop".

It all started out yesterday at about 11AM. I decided that the wind was going to drive me nuts if I didn't get out and do something and the dogs needed a walk. I loaded them up and headed up to the mountain to try to get out of some of the wind. I got up there and it was a little better so I collered up the dogs and let out just hiking along and letting the dogs be dogs. I was hiking up a little trail at the bottom of a little hill and got to thinking, "I recall trailing a lion up on that hill before and I'd have a better chance of finding something for the dogs to do up there". Well, I whistled the dogs to me and started climbing. Before we even reached the top, I heard my B&T open and start off to my left and then circle back to me when I got there. He'd found an old blown in lion track. We started down it thinking that we'd just work down it for a while and then return back to the truck after an hour or so. We were "booping" down the track and found where the lion had spent the day the day prior. The track started looking good and both older dogs were really liking it. My male pup was even getting "gamey". The female pup was also, just not as much. The hounds started to outrun me a little and then I heard the pups start to open. I grabbed another gear to make sure everything was on the up and up. I was walking down the lion track and noticed the dog tracks were starting to fade off to my left and downhill a little and soon the dog tracks were no where near me. I then noticed the Moose tracks that were under the dog tracks and grabbed for the tritronics "whoo" buttton. I started light and proceeded to try the highest setting, all to no avail. Needless to say my Astro had lost GPS signal somewhere along the way, so I shut it off to try to get it to pick up again and then lost all tracking of the dogs. I could hear them occasionally with the wind, so I knew that they were still going. I started just putting one foot in front of the other and was trying to get within tritronics range and shut them down. I couldn't make any ground on them and soon they were gone over the ridge. I beat feet back to the truck and went home to get my four wheeler to go round them up. I got them all back last night around 9PM.

Now to the "classified" part of this.....

The two pups are out of my female and Topper again. One of them has got to go. I was intending to keep them till they were started better. After yesterday I concluded that for either of them to have the best oportunity, one has got to go. Send me a PM for details if you're interested. I can honestly say that they are "track drivers" and have a ton of tree in them.
