I don't believe hounds can catch enough to put a dent in the growing coyote population. I read where they estimate over 450,000 are killed yearly and they are still the fastest growing animal population we have in the US. What kind of dog could one breed up that could catch the majority of the strikes on coyotes ?

seems like the harder we hunt em and the more we kill the more there are next year

Last report i read stated that you had to eliminate over 75% of yotes in a certain area to affect the population. The more you harvest the more pups the females will have respectively. If you don't hunt them in an area the females will only have 1-3 pups per year instead of the 5-8 when they are hunted hard.
