Gosh, I completely forgot about phone numbers that had two digit alphabets prior to dialing. The rotary dial phone.

Great stuff! thanks for posting it. For those of you who never got to meet old Cap Atwood he was a real character! Hollis and Blaine Atwood were good lion hunters as well.
Really some of the best in these ads.

Boy that stuff goes back a few years
My 2 uncles had gone out to " Craig " Colorado the year before and had asked me if I wanted to go with them the following year . I had saved my money , The day I was to send my hunting deposit in ,The Draft board thought my shooting skills were much more needed in the jungles of Vietnam . I think the Atwoods had a great business going with the Mule Deer at the time .

I had the pleasure of running with Cap on some hunts, I was just a kid and he was still tough to stay with, especially after the hunt!Mike Leonard wrote:Great stuff! thanks for posting it. I ended up with a couple of his hounds back when we could still spring bear hunt with hounds in Colorado.
He had taken over 1,000 bears and 1,000 lions in his career, his best weekend was 10 lion!
There was a photo in a newspaper of him with the cats freshly skinned and hanging from his pickup stock racks and the un-skinned were draped across his truck or also hanging.
Pretty impressive, even back then.

Ha! Ha! Al I know what you mean about after the hunt. LOL! Holy smokes!
Cap you use to have some running horses and when he was down here and the track was going it was fun to go by the RV park where he was staying and set out there and listen to some of those tales of his. He was not above playing a practical joke either. LOL!
