Anybody running any dry ground black and tans?
Just wondering if any of you southern boys are running any black and tans on the dry ground. If so, what lines? Don't ever see any black dogs in the dry ground pictures...thanks
Once you go black, you'll never go back! Duncan big game Black and Tans.

Catdogs most your dry ground hunters are hunting very hot arid places. I've found the black dogs to get hotter faster than the other dogs. We all know how the heat affects dogs anyways. I hunt at night in the warmer months so it doesn't bother them then. However I do try to avoid owning black dogs only for that reason. If you watch carefully the black dogs will be the first to hunt a shade bush.
I do own a little high tan dog that the heat doesn't bother much. His line has been bred for many generations to thrive in the heat though. I'm not trying to speak for everyone. This is just what I've experienced hunting in deep South and West Texas. This could be why you don't see more black dogs in dry ground pictured.

The guys that i know that are running black dogs down south are just crossed up. Same dogs just different colors. Some of the black dog do better then the lighter colored dogs....depends on the dogs more then the color imo. Good luck in your search.
Take care, jason

there has to be some in UT, there where some guys who came up from UT to the Potomac field trial one of the last years they had it, their black dog would of won the bear blow out if he hadnt been drifting the track. Id imagine it was a Duncan dog.

one of my buddies had a duncan female that could get er done on the dirt. she just passed away at the start of the season. there are dogs of every color down here doin it, but most commonly walkers crossed up.
"Houndn'Ems Blueticks" if it smells like a cat, they'll catch it.
