Re: pack size???
Any decent catdog should be able to do it solo, but I would say most run 2 or 3 on lions.

four to a dozen depends on how I feel and what I am doing.
Re: pack size???
2 blueticks because thats what I got. I have run bears with just the two with no problems but usually try to hook up with some more hounds when i can.

Re: pack size???
I have 5 right now. I have caught lions with 1 dog, and 3 dogs, and 10 dogs (with someone else there also). I really think that it boils down to one or two dogs doing most of the work anyway. I also think that 10 dogs is way too many for lions. But I do like the idea of having more than one dog in the country that I hunt with few or no trees, and most of the trees are small, and it can take some time to get to the tree, so a few dogs doesn't hurt to have.

Re: pack size???
On lions I run any where from 3 to 6 dogs bears I run 5 to 10 just depends and as far as male or female i prefer a female dog myself just because I think they handle easier and I dont have to wait on the male to piss on every brush around
just my two cents
IT DONT MATTER WHAT COLOR IT IS AS LONG AS IT HUNTS!!!!

Great post!, especially the last part, dogs arent going to learn anything sitting at home! Although I dont like putting more than 3 down on a lion I may put 4. Bobcats 2 is plenty but 3 works sometimes. It depends on your country, seems down south they like more dogs on dryground but I noticed up here that the more dogs you have the worse things can get. And like someone said its usually 1 or 2 dogs doing most of the work anyways and the rest are chaseing ass. I like to rotate which dogs I use and start tracks with that way you dont have a box full of ass chasers and you will end up with more lead dogs. Also I prefer males, but they dont like to listen, I like females because they do listen just cant seem to hunt them as hard sometimes.
