2/19/11 Pup training failure

The two older dogs treed up this young tom, the two younger dogs I've been working on this year failed to make it to the tree. This sport can be frustrating. But always a good day when you end up at a cat tree.

unfortunately i don't think the old hen has many years left in her. she used to ride shot gun in my pickup when she was a pup and she's about to be moved from the dog box to the cab of the pickup once again.

try one pup at a time .pups seem to team up and goof off. also you could wait till its jumped . walking them into a tree is another option .it helps pups to know what there chasin .probably you already know this stuff, but just trying to help .nice cat by the way.

Travis, you must be getting the same weather I am.

Jason, I feel your pain about multiple pups. I had two and had to get rid on one of them so they both would get a fighting chance. Like was said earlier, two pups can make your hair turn gray and fall out. Keep at it, it will all come together soon.

Good luck,
Scott

that's ok, too! it's the circle every good hound makes. I had a female redbone I got from Scott and Sandra Sallee that lived to be 15, and she treed lion right up to the 15th year. They have a lot left in em especially when you treat em with kid gloves as they get older. Congrats again buddy

Jason-How old is your ol' girl? I'm curious cause you said she maybe only has a few more years. If she's that old, it's kinda nice she is still taking the charge after those cats.
