Top speed on most is less than 15 mph. Some will go faster but tear up the tracks and undercarriage. Most will have the tracks smacking on the bottom of the cab if you go to fast, assuming they have enough power to go very fast. Not very fuel efficient either, especially if you try to run them over ten mph. There are better options out there for the money in my opinion.

Haven't actually hunted out of one but have been around quite a few.

Last summer I bought a 1964 Thiokol 201 with a v4 ford 4speed manual hi low range. It had now problem doing 25mph in high gear.

Before I did much work on it or hunt out of it I got an offer I could not refuse.
I think if you got the right machine it would be fun to hunt out of.

We have a couple bombadier bombis for coyote hunting when snow gets too deep for trucks. there six wide by ten ft long, 18 or 24 in tracks , three seats with box for several hounds on back, 20 mph top, underpowered 1600 cc gas with 4 speed, you brake tracks to steer. in the process of converting mine to deutz diesel with hyd motors driving yhe tracks. best, don

Most snowcats won't hold together very long running them at that speed, if they will actually reach it. The other problem with a snowcat as well as ATV tracks or truck tracks is they don't use skis. That makes them illegal to use on pretty much any public land in Washington. Pretty much stuck with a snowmobile unless your on private property. Snowcats are neat but there are a lot of drawbacks to them.
