When should I be expecting a young bluetick female to have her first heat?

yep a year old, but that would be a later bloomer. I've seen them as early as 6 months. Around 8 mo is pretty common.

Thanks for the replies.

I have a female thats a little over six months. She's as tall as my smallest female walker, but still looks jeuvenile and hasn't filled out her frame yet. She's a sweetie.

I was wondering when I should be watching, so I can pay attention early. I'd like to keep her two brothers away from her. I'll need to keep her under lock and key before, during, and after just to be sure.
