Proposed Settlement To Delist Wolves

Post by Mackdog »

I just read an article about a proposed settlement agreement where wolves will be delisted in Idaho and Montana and the more powerful wildlife advocacy groups have agreed to not sue for 3 years. Management will be returned to the states but the feds will "closely monitor" the populations in the two states. This is the same thing thats been going on, sue-delist-sue-delist-the states get f'd-sue-delist. "Environmental groups said they settled in part to avoid congress becoming involved in the issue." Keep the pressure on to amend the ESA and delist wolves for good.

The article claimed there were 700 wolves in Idaho, I've seen 850 several times and have been seeing 850 for several years. Apparently if you pretend they don't reproduce, then they don't. I heard a rumor that a Montana biologist addmitted the only way to control wolf populations is by aerial hunting because when we hunt one, two will replace it.

Keep the pressue on to FIX THE PROBLEM and not the effects! Support HR 509 and S249 and pass the word on to everyone you know!

we will have to just see how serious the lawmakers are from both states. Tester and rehberg are saying they are still taking the issue to congress, hope they are being serious. Until then the eco-nuts will spread all the false propaganda they can. Problem is none of the eco-nuts have ever seen a wild wolf or stepped foot in montana or idaho, most of them are arm chair idiots with money.

Eco-nuts is a great term, they must realize that if they want wolves to live unmanaged where they want them than every last human and bit of developement must be removed from those areas. I am not against wolves, I am against the introduction of a different sub-specie (Canadian/Alaskan Gray vs. Timberwolves) that likes to eat my hounds. Read books about the old time hound doggers like Virgil Lynch, they used a pair of hounds to run timberwolves like coyotes.

There is no way we will ever control the wolves at this point, out side of 1080. The only good that this hole thing will bring about is the beginning of the end of the endangered species act. I just hope history proves me right. Dewey
