Offer to Utah Houndsmen.

Post by tonyabbott »

Here is a 1 time offer to your leadership. Come on my radio program in the next month and talk about lions in Utah and in general. You will have 2 hours with me to discuss this and take calls etc.

Now in return you will have your members grow up and stop being ignorant as to me and Roughin' it Outdoors and what I did for 1 fortunate and grateful sportsman and what Roughin' it did for you.

I gave away a hunt of a lifetime that a guy could never afford and he had an amazing time and now you are busting my balls over it and saying I am a lions worst enemy.

Houndawg and the rest of you need to grow up and look past the end of your nose and selfishness and realize I gave an opportunity to someone that they would of never had which was to hunt and harvest a lion.

The war you are trying to start with me is a dangerous one for sure. You can't beat the media and to bust me up and Roughin' Outdoors who both have given you free publicity and help get your message out is not very smart.

So what is it? Will the selfish ignorant few of you on this sight continue with your uneducated comments and posts, or will you come on my show and help further advance your cause?

It is up to you. I can and will go either way depending on your answers.

Think it through before you spout off prematurely. This is a great opportunity for Utah's Houndsmen or a way to really hurt your progress.

Tony nobody is saying anything bad about the hunter. It is the guide. He should know better than to even put his dogs down on a female. Despite what SFW says Utahs lion population is at a all time low. It could be 2 or 3 weeks between unable tracks. That is because of over harvesting females. That's alot of gas and heart ache. To most houndsmen this is not a hobby its a way of life. That is rapidly dwindling. So congrats to the hunter. But shame on the guide for letting it happen. And for the cat and bear guy. Well.... he's just plain crazy. The SFW is just a bunch of wealthy jerks. Roads and coyote are the main reason of deer numbers down.

I know a hell of a lot of houndoggers in several states and i personally only know of one houndsman, maybe two, that could get up in front of a big bunch of guys or on the radio and not come off sounding like a fool.Byron Batemen is the one, and i don't think his position as pres. of the SFW would allow him to be as candid as he could be , so i guess it's up to you Dawg .

Tony I sent you a message with the name of a guy I would like you to call, if you are as serious as you sound take a few minutes to talk to him. He will at least get you pointed in the right direction, if he is not what you are looking for.

Tony,
Count me in!!! Get my head set ready and my microphone sterolized I'm on my way!!
We have a lot to talk about.....the main thing we need to discuss in female harvest management?? Wether it is a female subquota or all females being counted in female harvest data....the big beef on here is over harvesting of females because that's about all that is left here in utah due to the major over harvest we have had in utah of the last 10-15 yrs.....you know as well as anyone the distruction of lions has not helped the deer population one bit......miss management by the dwr is being felt by first pheasant hunters, the sage grouse hunters, the forest grouse hunters, the deer hunters, the elk hunters, the lion hunter, now they wana kill all the bears in the state......as hunters we need to address MISS MANAGEMENT.....its easy to point fingers BUT MISS MANAGEMENT. Is the bottom line.....how can wwe fix it???????
IF IT SQUATS TO PEE, LET IT BE....

    No truer words have ever been posted on this site Sackett! I was thinking the exact same thing!!

Not to worry Chief, first of all I'm not any kind of "Hound Leadership"... I speak for myself and I only represent HoundDawg, Inc. (Which consists of one guy eating a bowl of cereal and watching Nacho Libre on the TV)

And if I was to go on some radio program, I'd have the FCC standing on my porch with a list of words on a clipboard and the fines they carried.

They have no interest in hearing our side of the story, the only interest they have is more dead lions and more dead bears and keeping us out of the hills with our dogs during the fall as much as they can.

I have zero interest in hearing more of that tired old song on the radio and even less interest in being there in the studio to hear it.

I'll leave it up to the "Leadership" of this lovely hounding community. Hell Sackett, I still won't even admit to my parents that I'm a hound guy, I ain't about to go on some idiotic radio program and admit to it publicly!! I don't want anyone to know I'm part of this kitten killing crowd around here. :) :)

You'll have better luck finding me on the front row of a Justin Bieber concert than you'll have finding me on the radio talking about lions and deer. There are about as many deer left as there are lions, at least we know what happened to our lions. They still have no ***** idea where their deer went.

Besides, it's like old BNG said tonight... Screw lions, it's time to saddle up for the real deal... Bring on the bears.

But you said it Sackett... if it's come down to me, we should all be scared!! People would think they were listening to a Chris Rock show.

Besides even my kids won't listen to me, why the hell would anyone else? Where's the Underdog when we need him? ;) He'd know what to do.

Kevin could go on that program and do real good. My youngest kid gets on here all the time and reads all his posts. The first time he read for about an hour and when he got done he said''you know if you didn't know him you would think he was pretty smart''.But unfortunatally he has been MIA for about a week after the big April Fools day party at Hawns.Just what he needed, another holiday to celebrate.

That's a stupid comment dawg, to imply managers at DWR don't have a clue as to what happened to the deer herds. Last I knew all of them could read and you can bet they've all done their homework on past deer studies, but politics and budgets come into play and employees can't always do what is best for wildlife. By the time all the special interest groups (the takers) have their say their isn't much say left!!!!!

You guys want your lion population back and to have DWR and SFW back off the pressure on lions either fork out some money for coyote removal and spend you time in the field removing them yourself instead of flapping your jaws on this board.

Tony were not trying to make any enemies, the whole post on here had nothing to do with you giving away a hunt or adam eagle. I think that is great. We as houndmen hold every houndsmen accountable, so we were mad at the houndsmen that dumped on the female. Our thoughts and feelings on the show are if the lion populations are so great then why couldnt those outfitters had found that client a real trophy a Tom? A female is no trophy. Before you get all wound up, put yourself in our shoes and Think of it this way when you go deer or elk hunting and you talk to hunters who tell you yeah i hit one from a 1000 yrds away, but couldnt find it Or when you see people hammering two points off the road or when a archery hunter tells you he wounded two deer or even worst when a archery hunter on a limited entry unit tells you he hit two bulls but couldnt find them and then ends up finally killing one, What do you think or how do you feel? We both feel the same, people like that kill the sport we love so much. And that is the same way all the real houndsmen feel. If all deer/elk hunters could stick together and only take good ethical shots and only shoot trophies our deer hurd wouldnt be as bad as it is, because lets be honest we see deer when we go out we just dont see any trophy bucks. However the only reason us houndsmen call other houndsmen out is the fact that we can do something about our sport, because anyone can buy a rifle and go deer hunt, but not everyone has dogs let alone dogs that can catch lions. So those houndsmen that do have dogs that catch lion should be held accountable. When we kill off the females we just shoot ourselve in the foot and spit in face of all other houndsmen and Tony your right houndsmen are selfiish, the ones who kill everything they tree and its not just guides its all houndsmen.

What are you referring to Neff when you say "don't fall for this, there is a much better time and place?

If you are referring to my show then that is an ignorant comment. I'm Just trying to get clarification so I can be educated as to my decisions to discuss this issue or not. And if I discuss it I need to have someone educated enough on the program so as to not make the houndsmen sound less than smart or help them not sound selfish.

Either put up and come on the show and lets educate the public together or leave me and my efforts off of your forums.

Unfortunately this site is proving to be like all the others, lots of people bitching, moaning and complaining and NO ONE taking a serious and legitimate offer to promote the sport they love.

You people are ridiculous.

So will the President or the leadership of the association come on my show or not? That is a simple question that needs to be answered or the topic will be one sided and it will be my side.

Didn't Bplott already say he'd do it? I'm pretty sure he's the president of the Utah Houndsmen association. But I could be wrong.

Tony, I'm not familiar with your show at all. I can also assure you that I never will be with your dickheaded approach to the houndsmen on this site. You come on here calling people out and running on houndsmen and can't figure out why they were hostile to you in the beginning. Could it be that they saw you for who you really are? You could work on your diplomacy..................
