I keep mine set to track up at all times and it's getting to were I CAN"T get it to orientate rite. I use my garmin atleast 4 days a week and have always gotten it to track up by spinning it around and/or goofing with it for awhile but now it has gotten to where I can't get it 90% of the time. Have done the master reset and recalibrate the compass many time's. I can't even get it to stay on the north up setting all the time. Is it time to send mine in while still under warranty? Also it isn't being used around VHF radio's cause I do 98% of my hunting alone.
Also whats the turn around service from Garmin? I'm going in for shoulder surgery Thursday and won't be hunting for almost a week.

Re: Garmin Map orientation
I think you might be fighting a losing battle here. If you have the Astro set to "North Up," and it can't even calibrate to north, then it might be time to send it in. I don't think this was caused by using the VHF radio around it. The only time you are really in danger using the Garmin and a VHF is when the Garmin is hooked to a long range antenna and the VHF has a high output, which would be a truck mounted radio, not a hand held. We have used the Garmins with the regular antenna and the truck mounted VHF and it didn't hurt them. When calling Garmin it could be a pain, but what I normally do is call and if the person is hastling me about everything, I just hang up and call again until I get a descent person. I have mailed off a collar before and it took four days to get the replacement, and last time it took a month but when I called they sent it and I got it two days later. So they aren't bad to deal with. Good luck.
