Wildlife Materials TRX64s and TRX3s, Need Input

Post by nmplotthunter870 »

Hey guys, what are your opinions on these boxes. Found a trx64 with four collars for $450. Not familiar with these guys. Has anyone used Wildlife materials B4??

I only have experience with the TRX-3S. It is a pretty good system, tracks three collars and is pretty compact. I used a homemade antenna for mine similar to their mini antenna, but better, of course. It isn't as sensitive as other receivers, but that is not necessarily a bad thing all the times. It doesn't seem to get swamped by signals or be affected by bounce as much as some of the other receivers do. Bottom line, I never left a dog in the woods with it.

That is what i have and i love it. The trx 64 that is. wildlife materials will treat you good and it is east to get problems fixed. I was really rough with mine for 3 years then joined the army and it sat for 5 so i sent it in to them and it turned out it needed a a new meter, speaker, battery and a re-tune. They did all the work for like $180 plus shipping. and had it back to me quick. trx 64 you can track any collar of a certain frequency to .640 real easy to use. pm me if you need to know any more.

Been using the same 64 box for 31 years now. Changed out the batteries a couple of times and sent it in to them to tune it about 15 years ago. Still use it every week. It's now become my backup since I got the garmin a few years ago.

my 64 doesn't get much use anymore, I keep it for a back up, but it did serve me pretty well for years when I used it each trip out. Good luck ,Keystonepaul

thanks for the input guys. seems everyone likes wildlife materials. Going to pick up that trx3 with a quick track collar, and a rats collar for $150. Should do me good.

I cant speak for the 64 but my 16 is a very good tool. It took me a little bit to figure out, but after a little practice i have been very happy with the purchase.
