Congrats Phil Soucy

Post by Mel White »

there has been many post on here over the years on who mounts the best lions. I think our fellow houndsman Phil Soucy proved himself again by winning the taxidermy world championship last weekend with a cougar mount. good job Phil!

You know, once you actually see one of Phil's mounts, whatever it may be, it pretty much ruins every other mount you'll ever see. I am fortunate enough to have a bear in my front room that Phil mounted, and have seen several of his lions, he sets a standard that is so high, it is nearly impossible to match. Not only is he a perfectionist on his work, but he is one super good man. I had a chance to hunt with him a bit, and spend a little time with him, and he is a top notch individual. I guide lion hunters a bit, and when they ask for a reccommendation for a taxidermist it is always Phil, there is no other in my book. He is the only lion taxidermist.
