folks, today we were dealt a blow. h.b. 2337 was placed in the hands of senator Jackie Dingfelder, deliberately left to die...please watch the you tube video of my district 17 representative sherrie sprenger....we worked on this for the last two years....we have established many things during this process....the biggest, trust. faith and honor. please meet my district representative and see who is the solid spine in Salem oregon.i know as we look into new ways to conquer the opposition we will have representation that understands the issues we face in rural oregon.animal rights activist have just dealt Oregon's natural resources the biggest inhumane kill off in the history of oregon. Oregon's governor JOHN KITZHABER AND THE 16 LIBERAL DEMOCRAT STATE SENATORS. these 17 people will be responsible for the demise of deer, elk, and various small game mammals....not to mention their coveted wolf is now in danger of not making it in oregon....(perfect!)
far from over. we are addressing alternative plans for addressing our needs.... I GUARANTEE YOU WITH SHERRIE ON OUR SIDE WE WILL REBOUND AND EVENTUALLY WIN A ROUND FOR RESPONIBLE GAME MANAGEMENT IN OREGON... thanks to all for the support, please join me in contacting representative sprenger and thank her.....she has placed her political career on the line for us, believing in our cause. Rachel kloor as well, within the same office.
buddy, thank you for allowing me a place to post our issues, i know i'm in the wrong column....this belongs in the lion hunting section more than legislation....i have the understanding to change this in oregon, and the direct line to our capitol in salem....when i quit hunting in oregon it will be the day i hand the keys to the state over to the next generation hound hunter....
thanks also to mr. ronald anglin, head administrator for odfw. i know we disagree on many levels over policy. odfw is the logical management solution. i'm not forgetting this, i will dedicate the balance of this year for solutions that place odfw in the management seat for good in oregon... sincerely, mike

Re: oregon h.b 2337 conclusion
thanks....this is not over. we can justify hiring the federal government to shoot our lions and justify walking off leaving them lay and rot, toms, females, kittens... state government mandates to the federal government to kill em' all as treed....should not be a problem allowing lions to be properly managed by sport hunters
we can justify slinging the guts out of a black bears caught over bait in a snare, boars, sows and cubs shot and dumped like trash and call this more ethical management than select harvesting with the sport hound hunter....
should not be a problem allowing bears to be properly managed by sport hunters.
we have some person within that has SOME HUGE STONES to introduce h.b. 3636, the bill? asking the sport hunter to donate money to support usda.......wow! state and federal government intervention into our hunting is not acceptable and will be addressed and dealt with what ever amount of force necessary to make those in control understand.....we....not government will be doing the hunting in oregon.....end of story.....

I hope common since will win out. Sounds like you guys have a good foot hold. The things happening over there are a disgrace. It's hard to believe they can justify there total disrespect to lions & bear. Good Luck

mark, thank you... hope you are doing well....counting the days to retirement? i hope so...let some one else take care of ups....common sense is no longer common in oregon. the cool thing about this process is how much i have learned. this is priceless...the lobby process and government...both myself and our representatives have been schooled and have alternate plans already under way...we anticipated defeat...we know better than the opposition what needs to happen. i can tell you this.....representative sprenger is dedicated to this cause, when you join forces and unite you can conquer the world...unprecedented situation and times....this is the most support i have seen, special thanks go out to ousda, oha, obha, rmef, nra, farm bureau, cattlemen's association. oregon's tea party activist. concerned citizens...and any one else i missed...we have a serious management problem that stems well beyond a cougar pilot program....we need the hound reinstated as a management tool for both bear and cougar. the only salvation for oregon is clear......sport hunters! mike

Re: oregon h.b 2337 conclusion
just for the record...we have many usda members here...I'm not anti USDA....our situation is unique here in oregon. like so many states across the land. state and federal dollars are dwindling. this has caused USDA to resort to hiring its services out to the state government. when you can't meet payroll you become creative. we have evolved from USDA doing our coyote predation to doing our sport hunting. this has created a larger problem given the resources have been transferred allowing USDA to take the eye off the ball. increased coyote conflicts rival those of the cougar.USDA should be doing our trapping of predators and hound work where livestock conflicts persist.
this is being met with a great deal of resistance within our state and federal government agencies. sorry.....sport hunting is reserved for sport hunters first. predators are no different than ungulates.....we not the government will be utilized for management first and if we can't accomplish management objectives then and only then should the government intervene. because of litigation, liability odfw chose a path of least resistance. we will find a solution for getting this back on track...
