34lbs...he was old and on the downswing. Still a big cat but when I saw his track that morning I was thinking 40lber. No complaints though

kordog, he's used to dealing with ornery cat's. I'm sure your cats are alot like ours, that dog is 5 now and has started giving the bigger cats respect. They definetily got to have balls to stand in front of cats that size, thats one of the pluses to a hard headed dog.

yes your right they are about the same a 30 to 40 pound ornery cat is quite a match one on one with a hound.glad he still runs for ya after that.is he a walker blackntan ?the first pups i ever raised all looked just like him and thats what they were.

dandavidson, not too sure about her breeding. I took her from my brother who got her near toledo ohio. She came from a guy named scarborough who is into competition coonhunting.
Kordog, about 20 years ago there was a walker female mixed in and some time before that a blk and tan male. He's mostly bluetick and redbone.

Cool pictures! I want to know the whole story.

A few years back I had a bobcat jump on top of one of my dogs like that, I was only 5 feet away and had no gun on me. Lucky while this cat was big for my area at 24lbs my dog was able to kill it quickly by grabbing the cats midsection and shaking it. 10 more lbs of pissed off cat might have been more than he could handle though.

How was that cat dispached? I see the pistol pointing at the dog and cat did you shoot from there or get alot closer for more careful aim?

it was in late january and I was out by myself. We got our first snow in about 3 1/2 weeks(about an inch on top of a pretty good crust). I found his track crossing an old two track
and got very excited. This cat had a huge foot but I think I missed his prime. Put two hounds down and they cold trailed for about 3 miles and then jumped him next to the river they caught him on. It was about a mile and a half walk into them and there was no doubt they had him on the ground.

In the second vid I put one in his ribs and they end up baying him again. I fall through the ice and end up shutting the camera off but only for a second. The cat died as they were baying it and thats on the third video. Got wet up to my waist so it was a cold walk out. It was around 10 below that morning.
