Sueing Garmin
With all of us having problems burning up the Astros, we should all get together and find a lawyer that would file a class action law suit against Garmin due to the fact that they are aware of the problem and won't or will not fix it!!!!

The only way that Garmin will own up to their problem is filing a class action law suit.

Sue, Sue thats the answer to all our problems?? Lets sue the only company making GPS collars so the will cost $500 a piece instead of $200. Yeah maybe if we sue them they will just quit making them all together, that'll show em!!
Sounds like something a Democrat would come up with!!! LOL

My 2 cents, after 2 years of them being on the market its pretty well common knowledge that the ham and marine radios will burn them up, when close together. So, dont "key" the damn thing when you have your astro on.Whats so hard about that?

Re: Sueing Garmin
Well Sam, I hate to admit it but it must be pretty hard cause i screwed up my garmin after just a few hunts.I thik I talked 5or6 times on the radio and now it only tracks 250 yards.
I may not be a good example though, my wife says i'm special......
But i will not sue, I'll just pony up the $150 and get it fixed

Heck while we are sueing every one why not sue our government for letting the gas companies charge so much for fuel. while in the mean time they give money to country that wants to kill us to help them rebuild. Lets rebuild America 1st every else 2nd. close our borders.

Re: Sueing Garmin
Sorry to barge in on your post but: Has anyone burned up a garmin using a marine on low power? I just got mine last fall and used it all winter and never had a problem. (Knock on wood) We talk on the radio a lot.
Am I just getting lucky?
As for suing, grow up!!

Re: Sueing Garmin
would you sue cummins if you kept burning your motor up because you keep filling your truck up with gas instead of diesel even tho you knew it took diesel only? then y would you sue garmin when you know they are not compatible with marine radios?

Re: Sueing Garmin
I think sueing garmin would be a waste of time. I dont believe the origional poster really wants to sue but is really ranting about a product that seems to fail for many of us including me. but in responce to the quote above, You cannot turn your garmin off so that you can key your mic when using your ham radio. The garmin will lose the collar signals. If your on foot you basically need to put your garmin down and walk away from it to transmit on your handheld. If your driving in the rig you would need to pull over and leave the astro behind a distance so you can talk on your radio. Pretty dumb but its really the only way to ensure your tracker isnt gonna take a shit on you when you need it the most.Bearhunter wrote:My 2 cents, after 2 years of them being on the market its pretty well common knowledge that the ham and marine radios will burn them up, when close together. So, dont "key" the damn thing when you have your astro on.Whats so hard about that?
There needs to be a soultion to this problem. The astro is too sensitive to this kind of interfearance. They need to recodnize the problem and address it. My hope is that another company will come out sooner than later with a superior product and start some real competition between the two companies making the product we want cheaper and better.
