Of course they have dna from the cat. The cat was not born in ct he had to come from some where. We have run hundreds of miles with are hounds and no lion just bobcats. There is one obvious thing about lion not being here, not enough game. The north east does not have enough game to support any type of population. This is what would happen your riding down the road you look over your shoulder and there he is eating your nabor horse. And a week later he's eating another horse oR the farmers cow. NO LIONS HERE. Lions are not here and the one in greenwich is and was some ones pet kitty.

maybe not many but they are here we have tons of things they can eat and have you ever been in the woods in ny its alot thicker than most western states ever thought of being

From what I read the lion was from south Dakota. Trced it's DNA to some scat in Kansas or Tennessee or something like that. I figure it won't be long until there is a descent population east of the Mississippi river. I know there is an over abundance of deer in Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, so it won't be long folks!

Actually i live in New York Dutchess county and we do have a lot of deer here. Most places like upstate new york do not have enough deer to support lions. And i have never seen a lion in the woods around here. It takes a lot more than whitetails to support a lion population. Even if there was a lion here like ct more than likely a domesticated animal. Iam sure the lion in ct was a caged cat that got out. And since we do not have lion of course the cat came from a strain of lion from south dakota. We use to hunt hounds here for bobcat and never once encountered a mountain lion with dogs born, bred and trained on lions in the western states. Further, there is no evidence of lion-style kills in our woods, no spottings on trail cameras only glimses with untrained eyes, no scat, no markings on trees, no domestic animal attacks (except those confirmed to occur by black bear/coyote/bobcat). Animals are innately wired to reproduce. IF there were even 2 here, we would have a budding population. Where are they all? If you ever see one, I will make you the same offer I made the Audubon Society people (who, incidently say they are NOT here despite the many reported sitings they get): call me. The hounds will put it in a tree, we can take some pictures and maybe even some DNA and put the issue to bed once and for all.... I would love for them to be here it would be alot of fun. Thanks
