Grawe's bear scent.

Post by affiremech »

I tried using the bear scent this year and my dog would not strike, push or work it at all. I know they could smell it but would not bark even once. One of my buddies tried a bottle and had the same problem. I have good bear dogs he has great and both of us ended up with nothing. I've used the lion scent with great results. Both of us had ordered bottles at different times and ran seperate and then together. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them?

most older dogs that hunt live game wont trail or strike a scent , graws and cronks are probly the best out there i like cronks better but its best used to train pups. just curious though if you have good bear dogs why use scent /drags?

I have used their lion and bobcat and it is great but the bear is a different issue. I have tried multiple bottles and never have had any luck. jmo

I was training younger pups but in New Mexico there is no chase season so I tried it out to make good of the summer months before season opens. I have had good luck with the lion scent with dongs that have seen live game. I don't know

Forget that stuff just get yourself a piece of hyde off the real deal if you feel you need to run a drag that bad or cant get trainers or hunt alongside other hounds to get them started.
