Hello and welcome to the site. What part of Northen Cal are you from? You said your wanting to run Bobcat, Fox and Lion, you do know we can not run Lion here in Cal right? Your best bet if you want to run some Lion after you get your pups trained up is to run over in Nv.

A fella on this site wrote a very good article on cat training. It should work for fox as well.
You just have to get the right stink! Ca has an overabundance of lions just not many deer anymore. Hopin to see it change.

Also! Pertaining to taking a mountain lion in Ca, you may be able to it with a depredation permit or be hired by a person with one. You need to talk with a warden on this. I have dealt with a couple of them in C.C and they are both real easy to talk with. The DFG also contracts with cat hunters to take problem cats. Look into that. You can't train hounds on lions in this state so...............go east.

Section 4802 of the Fish and Game Code
Any person, or the employee or agent of a person, whose
livestock or other property is being or has been injured, damaged, or
destroyed by a mountain lion may report that fact to the department
and request a permit to take the mountain lion.

Section 4803 of the Fish and Game Code
Upon receipt of a report pursuant to Section 4802, the
department, or any animal damage control officer specifically
authorized by the department to carry out this responsibility, shall
immediately take the action necessary to confirm that there has been
depredation by a mountain lion as reported. The confirmation process
shall be completed as quickly as possible, but in no event more than
48 hours after receiving the report. If satisfied that there has been
depredation by a mountain lion as reported, the department shall
promptly issue a permit to take the depredating mountain lion.

Another thing to remember is that it's a FELONY to harass/persue a lion in California without the proper paperwork and credentials. Be Carefull.
"What I really need is a system that when I push a button it will shock that dog there, when I push this other button I can shock the other dog over there, and a button that I can push to shock all twenty dogs at the same time!" - Clell Lee
