Redneck- I really like the looks of those pups!
The one that really caught my eye was the black headed looking walker female, Maggie. I can see why you want to keep her. She'll be pretty. My first hound was a little white snowball like her that I brought home in my coat pocket.
As far as what characteristics I'm looking for, I have a kind of open ended wish list. I guess I'm looking for a female with ridiculously long ears from a proven blue line where the dam and sire were also rather long eared. Parents that are cold nosed would be very desirable.
Here's my circumstance now though. I have a female and her son that are both fertile, both 7/8 cameron. (I don't want them to mate). I have a tentative breeding coming up with a friends elderly male cameron, which he really likes and so he would like to have him breed to my Mathilda. If I were to keep a male pup that would give me two half brothers for my use. They'd be a year apart in age, but would give me some basis for comparison. This is something I've been very interested in.
My young male is approaching a year old and still needs to be proven in the field. I like him though and am optimistic that he'll be a good dog for me. If that proves true then I'd like to breed him. That's where my interest comes from in getting a future female pup. He has really big ears and a bugle voice. In my imagination an ideal girlfriend for him would be a long eared blue girl from a proven line. Since mine are heavily cameron bred I would probably look to non-cameron lines for this female to introduce another X chromosome into my menagerie.
Same here if MAGGIE turns out to be as good or better then her mom im going to cross her back over to a cameron ,i just love the way camerons look and run. when they are chasing and tracking there bawl is just music to your ears the moma to the pups has a unique double chop on tree so the min i here that i know the job is done and there will be something in the tree , she is very long eared and good sized for a female she weighs in at 45- 50 pounds , but yet agine she is 1/2 cameron . last raccoon she treed she was about two weeks away from having the pups treed a coon at nine am after getting in to a fight with it on the ground first a 20 pound boar . i cant wait to see how maggie turns out hope for the best and wishes do come true
