any of you fine gentleman know if theres any literature about him that a regular ol wanna be like me could get his hands on?
seems like any interesting character to read about

A book called mountain cowboys is about the Pyle family and talks alot about Floyd Pyle. I think High lonesome books had it.Jinx Pyle wrote the book

Excellent read by the way and Floyd was the real deal. He was doing predtor and govt. work abou the same time Giles Gowick was and they handled different sections of the state. The Pyles have a long history in the Rim Country and Floyd' son Gene was also and excellent lion hunter. Gene's son Jinx compiled the bookand he also did a good deal of lion huning in the Payson area.

Clay, for the life of me I cannot find the book you referenced. I checked Hi Lonesome, but they didn't have it.

noticed the words payson and rim country i have a lot of family in the heber area been there a long time i live in colorado with the other half of the family thinkin bout movin down there next summer arizona has a lot more for opportunities for houndsmen then colorado

we do, and there's no shortage of houndsmen either.. pretty much see a new truck with a dogbox every week down here in the valley

well maybe all those houndsmen have enough pull to keep your bear season the only way to hunt bear here is to get lucky when your elk huntin and stumble upon one :evil:
