Yes. Tree switches are also legal. Remember, you also need to take the lion ID test on the DNR website to get a tag for lions.

The fish cops even carry them around here so they can pick up your dogs. Beware

Unless I'm mistaken, the Garmin collar must be physically paired with each receiver and can't be randomly picked up by scanning or otherwise like radio collars can.

Cohunter, They can carry them around all they want. Unless they know your collar ID, or they have your collar to link to, they can't track anything. Please explain!

They can put 10 numbers in.That would give them a 1/5 chance of picking the right number. If you have 3 or 4 collars out, it increases the chances even more.Or if they have 5 of the astros they could cover all the numbers.

You do not have to have a physical link to activate a collar. You simply pick a vacant number on your astro and enter it manually. If the CPO wants to take the time he can put in 1-10 then 11-20, 21-30, etc. and cover all 50 possibilities. I don't see why he would be interested in a dog at random though.

They would have to get out of the truck to keep a steady reading on mine, steep and deep with very few roads where I hunt. Besides, if you're not trespass'n it won't matter if they know where you are anyway. Hell, I'll let'm come along if they can keep up. ha
