They are both out of the same father different mother. Ive been told both ways its to close and others say its fine and how you get better dogs. Also a niece to a uncle cross?? Just throw your opinion out lookn for any advise i can get Thanks

I got a dog from a guy that was bread that way on accident (brother and sister differnt moms). You could tell that dog was differnt. It looked like he was going blind and was just plain a weird dog. The guy called me a month later and asked if he went blind. I said no but it looks like he was going too, he said all the other pups did. I had him for 2 years and never went blind he was an okay hunter just a pack dog nothing special. Had to git rid of him he was to agressive to other dogs. Thats my experiance I have had ,herd of guys doing it and did fine, but you got to CULL HARD!!

i started with 4 dogs in 1999 and now iv;e got 20 hog dogs on the yard that are all from the origanal 4 dogs i male 3 females 1/2 brother 1/2 sister to wich ever side you want to go to is great to cross mother son if you want the dames line father daghter if you want the sires side grandfather to grandaughter it goes on foreever . as long as you have something worth breeding to start with . it is called line breeding . some folks without a clue call it inbreeding . wich is full brother to full sister . breed any way you like and hopefully you will get it right . every dog on my yard has at least an 1/8 of my origanal catahoula males blood in em and if i hadn't lost him in 07 i would breed his great great grand daughters back to him . good luck and go for it . thats how we got to where we are today . I would do it but make sure both hounds bring to the table what you want. I crossed father to daughter 18 year ago and kept the pups till they where a year old 6 out of the nine had what i wanted the other three where culled. All hound breed are bred tight thats how we get what we want from a breed or bloodline. If it work out good its line breeding if it dont is inbreeding that what ive been told.

Have done it many times with great outcomes but just like any breeding you have culls in all of them. Andy

My best dog came from a 1/2 bro 1/2 sister cross. I did not breed the dogs, I only took advantage of what someone else did and got a pup out of that litter. However, the original ingredients were good.
