More wolf trouble

I have not heard any new details, but on the 19th of Dec. Eric Weare had three dogs killed after turning out on a tom with his son. Knowing Eric, I would guess all wolves in this part of Sanders county are in danger of extinction.

Sanders county is in NW Montana. Trout Creek, Thompson Falls, Bull River and Noxon are areas that have been over run with wolves.

Too bad a couple mutts from the pound that had parvo didn't get loose and mingle with some of our wonderful wolves!

thanks Phil, I'm putting together a letter to read at the FWP meeting on the 7th. We need to let them know enuff is enuff, pointed at out governor. He is the head of all that goes on in this states, we need to go with what Wyoming proposed.

Im sure your right about the wolves being in trouble now. From what i heard Eric lost a couple of his best dogs. We had a lion kill one of our dogs on christmas day in sanders county. That was a good article Terry you got some good looking dogs there.

It is only going to get worse gents. Now that deer and elk numbers are plummetting the wolves are going to become even more territorial and willing to lash out and go after any dog that dares bark in ear shot. I had two of my dogs killed in Fish Creek in Minerial County a few years back. Simply stated it is going to take some organized wolf control to make a dent. A lot of guys are driving around road hunting wolves and trying... but all they are doing is trying. For the most part these wolves aren't gonna stand around listening to a truck roll up the road and let you shoot at them. We need to get about 50 guys together and work different drainages, when we get into a pack clean as many out as possible.
A lot of people were upset that Montana didn't set a higher quota. I chuckled, they could have set the quota at 5 million, I told my wife that I would be amazed if we got 200, we are still far from that number and they have extended the season to Feb 15 instead of November 30. There are only a couple options on nocking down wolf numbers. Poison and helicopters. Even trapping is marginal. Stay safe, stay cocked and locked and prepared at all times to do your part with wolf control.

We took the place of the wolves, thats why there were none not long after we showed up on this continent. Humans must use the land and natural resources for food and shelter, conserve it not preserve it. Where do hippies' soybeans come from I wonder? Agriculture land that was once natural and home to native species. I'm sick of the bunny huggers being flat out hippocrits. We are the wolves and we have successfully managed prey until the commies introduced a specie that was disease infested, adapted to a harsher climate with larger faster prey, and more agressive and territorial. We are left no choice but to make law-abiding citizens criminals by doing what is neccessary to save our land and natural resources.

Every person in this country depends on natural resource managment, whether its sustainable forestry that built their house and lets them wipe their ass to the food they eat. Food and shelter doesn't just appear out of thin air at the store!

You're right on MacDog. The law has made it necessary that we who know how to survive and care about our families and the human welfare, are made out to be "criminals" and so we must bear down and do what we've got to do. Some good ideas for the wolves: Distemper, parvo, cyanide, strict nine, 10-80(or whatever that canine version of strict nine was) Baits, razors in baits, tendon balls in baits. Get the good ideas out and maybe something will get done. We ought to give up the other hunting until the wolves are taken care of. The true solution to the wolves will require us"outlaws" to spend as many resources as we have and get it done.
