Just thinking about hunting big game and

Was wondering if it would be possible for a guy to take his hounds out West or North or even East and have any success on Bear or Cats.

I live in central Iowa so I hunt coon with my hounds but was just thinking if it was possible. Take a week and go some were else and hunt them on different game with any success, has anyone else tried this?


or are there guides out there that will let you bring your hounds along on a hunt?
Just thinking of how to burn some vacation time next Fall/Winter!

A lot of straight coon dogs make great lion hounds and in some cases great bobcat hounds. A lot of guys around here have bought straight coon dogs and they turned out to be great cat dogs, same with bear. If you were to go west and had some family or friends its worth a shot, couldnt hurt anything to try

You might try Sonny Tapia of Dream Mtn Outfitters. He guides for just about everything in Arizona and New Mexico. A few friends of mine took there dogs down last year and did some bear huntin with Sonny. They had a great trip.
