nothing here in Utah. It's been a struggle. I think the bobcat season will close before it snows. It will be good next year cause a lot of the lions and bobs will make it through the season. Or it will be a slaughter once it does snow.

Conditions are indeed tougher than what we normally have this time of year. It is a great time to hike canyons and really work your dogs. Your catch rate might not be as high, but these conditions only make your dogs better.

Good luck,

Amen. Go out and hunt. Freecast your dogs in areas you know lions hang out. Hiking is much easier with no snow to. Lol

Good luck,

I agree, It does alot of good for the dogs and the lion population. Around my area it's kept alot of people home from the lack of snow. Hopefully it will save some lion too.

our conditions are not as bad as you would think. when it has snowed, it's been damn good. and when it hasn't you can actually get around on the top of the mountain where the big boys hang out! I have cut all toms this year, the only two females I've caught were free casting. last year we had tons of snow and I caught way more females than toms. If you have the motination to get out between the storms this year I think it is ideal conditions!

Its been a super crappy winter for me. In early December I took the dogs out by myself into an area you have to hike or go horseback in, treed a nice Tom, fell and dis-located my arm from my shoulder. Luckly had cell service and called my bro and wife to come get me. Spent 4 hours in the ER getting my arm put back in. Had surgery a week later and have been recovering since then. My buddy called today and were gonna hit the same canyon Wednesday. He's gotta help me handle the dogs though cuz I'm still a one arm bandit. I prefer to hunt without snow. It just makes me cold and wet.......... I don't tree as many lions as some guys around here do, but my dogs work the hell out of the mountain to get the ones they do. Thats what makes me happy

You don't need fresh snow to catch a lion, you just need a fresh lion. HAHA. This is when the good, straight dogs shine and the rest cry. Lions don't wait for snow to move around, and you shouldn't wait for snow to hunt.
